Chunky cable-knit sweater in two strands

Large cables, a folded neck, and a chunky look make this sweater a warm piece with lots of character. It is knitted with two strands and has plenty of room in the bust compared to the stated chest measurements. A sweater you'll gladly reach for when the weather calls for more than just optimism.

The body is knitted in the round from the bottom up in a cable pattern. The sleeves are also knitted in the round, then sewn in. The neckband is knitted in rib and folded down towards the wrong side.

The large cables clearly take shape as you go, and 12 mm needles give good progress in the pattern. It's a satisfying project if you like prominent textures and a workflow with something to keep an eye on.

The finished sweater is perfect over a shirt, a dress, or just what you're already wearing. The high neck will take care of the rest.
