Ístex Kambgarn

Ístex Kambgarn is for those who want Icelandic wool in a finer and softer version. While classic Icelandic yarns often have a more rustic look, Kambgarn is smoother, softer, and more comfortable directly against the skin.

Kambgarn is spun from merino wool and is therefore not made from classic Icelandic sheep's wool. Instead, you get Ístex's experience with yarn production in Iceland combined with the finer and softer merino wool.

This results in a beautiful and clear stitch definition, where structure, cables, and colorwork all stand out sharply. At the same time, the yarn still has the warmth and natural expression associated with wool – just in a lighter and more elegant version.

This makes Kambgarn very versatile. Use it for sweaters and cardigans, but also for hats, mittens, scarves, and children's knitwear, where you want a finer yarn and a less rustic result.

🧶 How much do you need?

For a standard adult sweater or pullover, you should typically expect to need approximately 8–12 balls of Kambgarn, depending on size, model, and pattern. For larger or more spacious models, you should calculate a bit more.
