Mayflower Glitter is the little detail that can change the entire look of your project. The ultra-thin glitter thread is knitted or crocheted along with your regular yarn and adds fine sparkles between the stitches – without you needing to change either the pattern or the base yarn.
The clever thing is that you decide for yourself how much glitter there should be. Choose a shade close to your yarn if you want the effect to be subtle and only really show when the light hits it. Or choose a contrasting color if you want the glitter to be a more prominent part of the look.
Glitter can be used for both knitting and crochet, and you definitely don't have to use it throughout an entire project. It is fantastic for small details, where just a little bit of glitter can make a big difference.
There are plenty of possibilities, especially for crochet. Use it, for example, as a carry-along thread in crocheted Christmas decorations, stars, and other ornaments, or simply crochet a glittering edge on a project. It is also lovely for edges on shawls and scarves or for individual details on a blouse or cardigan.
🧶 How much do you need?
Mayflower Glitter has a very long yardage, so a surprisingly small amount is needed. For a standard adult blouse or cardigan, 1 spool will often be enough when Glitter is used as a carry-along thread. For larger models or projects with high yarn consumption, you may need more.
For small crochet projects, Christmas decorations, and edges, you will only use a small part of the spool, so there is plenty of opportunity to add glitter to more than one project.
Why should you choose Mayflower Glitter?
Because you can take a yarn you already love and give it an entirely new look. Use it throughout the entire piece, on individual details, or just as the little glittering finish that makes the difference.
And perhaps that is the best thing about Glitter: You don't need to have planned an entire glitter project to use it. An edge on a crocheted Christmas star, a little sparkle in a shawl, or a carry-along thread in a blouse can be more than enough.
Colors may vary slightly from screen to screen and may therefore differ slightly from the actual color of the yarn.
