Angel Raglan T-shirt

The short-sleeved cardigan is one of those designs you quickly want in more than one colour. It looks just as good buttoned up and worn as a top, as it does open over a dress, top or T-shirt – and it works with almost everything from jeans and shorts to summer dresses and skirts.

The light, fluffy knit makes it perfect for cool summer evenings, a day at the office or as that extra layer needed over a dress. And with the short sleeves, you get a cardigan that is warm and soft without feeling like a heavy knit.

The design is knitted top-down with raglan increases using three strands of Angel by Permin, which gives it plenty of softness, airiness and the beautiful mohair look. The ribbed edges and the seven mother-of-pearl buttons provide the final delicate touch, making it just as suitable for everyday wear as for something a little more elegant.

And there's an extra bonus: It's surprisingly quick to knit. Three strands of Angel and larger needles quickly give both volume and length – in fact, I knitted my own in size M in just four days. Of course, this isn't a guarantee that everyone can do the same, but it does say something about how quickly the project can grow.
