Thistle lace shawl – Digital pattern

Tistel is a beautiful shawl with a decorative lace pattern and a diagonal shape that gives the design a different look than the classic triangular shawl.

You start at the wide patterned edge and knit the shawl diagonally back and forth. From there, you work your way through the lace pattern, while decreases on the purl rows gradually make the shawl narrower. This also means that you start with the long rows and can see the work take shape as you approach the tip.

The finished shawl measures approximately 155 cm in width and 70 cm in height at the center. This creates a large shawl that can be draped over the shoulders or wrapped around the neck.

Tistel is designed in Esther by Permin, and 4 balls of yarn are used for the shawl. Esther has a yardage of 230 meters per 50 grams, should you wish to knit the pattern in a different yarn. The model in the picture is knitted in Light denim (883409).
