Cardigan with ridges – Digital pattern

Cardigan with ribs is a cute and versatile cardigan for the little ones, with buttons at the front and a continuous pattern of vertical ribs. The simple pattern gives the design plenty of texture without making it look heavy, and it works just as well over a dress as it does with trousers.

The cardigan is knitted from the top down in one piece. You start at the neck and work the yoke back and forth, while making increases so that the garment gradually takes its shape. The buttonholes are knitted as you go, so the front edge becomes a natural part of the work.

Once the yoke is the correct size, the work is divided for the body and sleeves. The body is continued back and forth in the established pattern, while the sleeve stitches are set aside and knitted afterwards. There is therefore very little assembly at the end – only buttons and the final ends need to be secured.

The pattern is designed for No.3 Organic Wool+Nettles from ONIONKnit, which consists of 70% organic wool and 30% nettle fibers.
